How Norgesfoods cold-chain works from Norway to TTDI

Seafood quality is mostly a logistics problem. Temperature, time, and who touches the product decide whether it arrives as intended. Norgesfoods was built to keep that chain short and supervised.

The four principles

  1. Traceability — we know the producer and the path.
  2. Cold-chain preservation — temperature held from packing to handover.
  3. Sustainability — responsible Norwegian producers we trust enough to eat ourselves.
  4. Transparency — clear product facts on the shop and in WhatsApp orders.

We deal directly with producers in Norway and bypass the usual layers of middlemen, agents, and re-processors in Malaysia. That is also how we keep prices competitive for the quality.

Frøya sashimi salmon path

StepWhat happens
Harvest & selectionFrøya salmon selected; best fillets chosen by hand
ProcessingFilleted promptly; skinless, boneless loins
PackingMAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) in Norway
Target packing windowAbout 2 hours from harvest to MAP pack
FlightAir-flown chilled to KLIA
Storage tempKeep at 0–2°C
Shelf life14 days chilled
LocalHeld under our cold chain; pickup at TTDI or out for delivery

MAP packing limits oxygen so bacterial growth slows. That is why Frøya can stay sashimi-ready in chilled form for up to 14 days — something tray-packed supermarket salmon rarely matches in Malaysia’s climate.

Ramoen Atlantic cod path

Ramoen cod is filleted and frozen at sea (FAS) on modern vessels, then moved under deep-freeze conditions and air-flown. “Frozen at sea” locks freshness at the point of catch. Boxes on our shop: 1kg (RM 220).

From KLIA to your kitchen

After customs and MAQIS/LKIM-regulated import handling, product stays in our cold chain until pickup or delivery. Pickup address: 19B Jalan Wan Kadir 2, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. TTDI pickup is on weekends 9am–3pm or by appointment (we’re not a retail shop). Delivery across KL & Klang Valley (from RM10), Penang and Johor Bahru.

FAQ

Who controls the cold chain?

Norgesfoods is the importer and distributor. We work directly with Frøya, airlines, customs, and local logistics — so oversight sits with us, not a chain of agents.

What temperature should I keep Frøya at home?

0–2°C in the fridge. Do not leave packs at room temperature. Use within the chilled shelf life on the label.

Is Ramoen cod fresh or frozen?

It is frozen at sea (FAS) — filleted and frozen on the vessel — then kept deep-frozen through air freight. That is how wild Norwegian cod reaches Malaysia in reliable condition.
